Dale VonSeggen was an Iowa farm boy, a sports nut, and a math major who met Liz, his future wife, at Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois. Liz became a ventriloquist early in their marriage, and although Dale worked on learning ventriloquism, he decided to be Liz’s encourager, critic, and agent as she began to excel in ventriloquial skills. In 1974, their family ministry became known as One Way Street; this very small “business ministry” grew to become a full-time effort for Dale and Liz plus about 30 staff. In 2011, the name of that business was changed to Creative Ministry Solutions and operates today under that name. For more than thirty years, Dale has been involved in extensive conference work, founding the International Festival of Christian Puppetry and Ventriloquism (I- Fest), Ministry Arts Xtra (MAX), and over 800 regional puppetry festivals, which usually taught and featured ventriloquism. Dale and Liz’s membership on the Vent Haven Board of Advisors and their annual involvement at the Vent Haven International ConVention is always a highlight of their summer!
